On Thursday, 2 June 2022, the cultivation meeting of the Kartoffel Zentrum Bayerns (KCB) took place in Kühbach on the Tyroller farm. More than 200 farmers attended the event to exchange information and learn about the coming cultivation year.
Josef Färber, Managing Director of the KCB, welcomed those present and then informed them about the current marketing situation, upcoming investments and the coming season. Thomas Hertle, also from KCB, provided interesting information about new and established varieties. Ferdinand Buffen, Managing Director of Wilhelm Weuthen GmbH & Co. KG and the Kartoffel Zentrum Bayern informed the participants about the current market situation and prospects for the coming season. Konrad Zollner, Chairman of the Producers' Association for Quality Potatoes in Bavaria e.V., then gave a statement on potato cultivation.
Benedict Tyroller moderated the subsequent panel discussion. The speakers then answered questions from the farmers present and exchanged opinions.
The conclusion of the event is that the farmers can look positively and optimistically into the future combined with the call to work together on the success story of the potato.
The successful event was concluded with a lunch for all participants.
